The hotel room was lovely and fairly spacious. . The staff were lovely. Food mostly nice. It is a good uphill walk from the town but there is a shuttle bus, if you plan staying out late this wont be an option! Its irregular also during the day. Bar was lively when we stayed. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second trip to Sorrento-we last visited two years ago and I feel that we so fortunate to stay at this hotel! Despite one or two adverse reports on Trip Advisor about the food and Nino (the Maitre D') both my wife and I were delighted with every aspect of the hotel and when we return in another couple of years this will be where we stay-can't say fairer than that.
The hotel was spotless, the large swimming pool was spotless, the room we had (seaview balcony on 4th floor) was large and airy the staff in the dining room were very pleasant, efficient and Nino waseverything that a Maitre d' should be.
If we were going to be a little bit picky we have to say that we would have liked the food to be served with proper Silver Service as we had had at our previous hotel but "plated"meals are becoming more the norm;the important thing was that the food was excellent and we both put on weight!!
O K the location could be better but if you want the views then you have to accept being a little way out of town. The shuttle bus ran from 9am to 12.15pm and then from 4.45pm to about 11pm.If we had one "gripe" it would be that the break during the siesta time was too long but we got round that by getting the blue SITA bus (that goes via Priora) and for 2 euro it stopped outside the hotel. This was much better than getting the Linea A town bus that someone else suggested as this drops you off outside Hotel Brittania and you still have a rather dodgy walk uphill-no pavement / fast moving traffic-to get to the hotel.
If you wanted to walk down to the town then it took about 25 minutes and about half the walk you had a pavement.
Although we went down into the town most evening their was entertainment each evening which was usually a pianist or similar and while this would not suit some people it was very pleasnt to sit on the terrace ,enjoy a drink, and enjoy the spectacular views.

Myself and my partner arrived very late friday night with Dinner left for us in our room 466, that was a lovely suprise, the room was very clean and presentable with a balcony facing the back of the hotel, the maid service excellent, waiters & bar staff were wonderful, food to die for, location is a fair way from the hub of Sorrento but the hotel shuttle bus was regular, punctual and FREE . I didnt see the beauty centre or Turkish bath/sauna & massage or table tennis & pool table that was described in Thomas Cook Brochure 2009 , trips were a tad expensive but enjoyable, went to Capri & Amalfi as it was a weeks holiday needed the rest of time for relaxing would we go back---YES
